EXAMINATION & CONSULTATION
The exam consists of a head to toe (or paw!) visual and hands on assessment, including checking eyes, ears, lymph nodes, teeth and gums. The skin will be checked, heart listened to for murmurs or irregular beats, abdomen palpated for enlarged organs or masses. You will be asked if you've noticed any behavioral changes, increase or decrease in appetite, changes in energy level or any other differences you've observed in your pet. Your awareness of small changes in your animal will assist the veterinarian with diagnosis and treatment. You and Ponti Veterinary Hospital are partners in maintaining the health of your animal. The Veterinarians and staff will consult with you regarding treatments, diets and activities suitable for your pet. They will also discuss the special needs of senior pets and recommend appropriate screening (lab tests) for diseases common to older pets. |
